Rihanna recently launched fenty beauty a make up line consisting of over 40 foundations, highlighters, lipsticks and gloss – so what’s all the hype about is her range fabulous or a flop?

Here’s my take on fenty beauty pro filter foundation in shade 330 and freestyle killawatt highlighter in lightening dust/fire crystal. I liked the clean and simple packaging on all the products, the blending sponge is small making it easy to handle.

The freestyle killawatt highlighter is like any other highlighter nothing special but for me the foundation really stands out.

Over the years I have tried and tested many foundations and I have to say this one is awesome. It stands along side the likes of Nar’s, YSL, Chanel and Dior the coverage is great and skin tone match PERFECT! with over 40 shades Rihanna has done us proud she has clearly done a fantastic job for a medium coverage foundation, it feels lightweight and hides any imperfections although I find it is easier to blend with a little water dabbed on the blending sponge.

The Main focus on Rihanna’s make up range is to achieve flawless skin she certainly gets top marks from me, fingers crossed we see new products from this reasonably priced range.

 

 

Whats cool S/S17

After the political turmoil of 2016 Brexit, David Cameron resigning and Donald trump elected as president of America, we need a distraction and what better distraction then fashion!

Yeezy Season 4 #lifeofpablo

Kanye West Yeezy Collection Season 4 took place at Roosevelt’s Four Freedom Park in  open air and blazing heat. Once the show finally kicked off (after hours of waiting) there was plenty to see including models wobbling along the runway due to heat exhaustion,  one even fainted, that said this collection is a vast improvement and probably the coolest then previous seasons with nude bodysuits, knee high boots and drop shoulder jackets, we even get to see a family photo of Kim, Kendall and Kylie emerging from an air conditioned room,  presumably?

Foundation for darker skin tones:

So, as I type this blog I’ve decided to devote some of my time to look for beauty brands that tailor for the asian/darker skinned tone woman.

The Stylish Edge Manuscript will reveal secrets, tips and tricks on how to make your dark complexion work wonders for you.

Firstly, lets start with foundation a base for any flawless complexion.

Finding the right foundation for darker skin can be a struggle (trust me, I’m speaking from experience!) being a desai girl, I have medium dark skin and I find the majority of foundations are made for fair/olive skin tones thus making my life that much harder when searching for the correct shade.

My complexion has a yellow undertone which means when I search for a suitable foundation it should be a warm colour with a slight yellow/golden tinge.

One trick to determine correct undertone is to look at the veins in your wrist – If they appear blue or purple, the undertone is cool, green or olive, warm and if they’re a mix of both, then neutral.

     

The hardest part is over, now its time to select the type of coverage you want, full, medium, partial or sheer finish?

Once you’ve determined your tone, pick out a few colours to try.

Make sure you test the foundations along your jawline in several different lighted area’s the right colour foundation should disappear into your skin … that’s your match!

Tip: if you’re having trouble deciding between two similar shades, I suggest go with the lighter option because you can always add a little custom colour with bronzer or blush.
